friday letters...7

Dear Blog,
Words are on my tongue, begging to be released... but I am having trouble making light over today.  But writing that alone reminds me, this space is mine.  And while today is heavy on my heart, He gave His life so I could live.  And today... my words are living.

Dear Good Friday,
You make my heart ache and my eyes spill tears of sorrow. But... as I was driving along listening to the radio these words caressed my heart: there is hope for the helpless, rest for the weary, and love for the broken hearts. there is grace and forgiveness, mercy and healing He'll meet you wherever you are... {lyrics from cry out to jesus, third day}  Even after the words had been sung, my soul lingered and revelled in the promise. The promise that would not be possible without you, Good Friday. This year, the tears may still pour, but when my mind goes to the cross, those are the promises that I will remember...

Dear Doctor,
Thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I don't think I can say it enough. It has been a long two months with a mess of pain and catheters and infection.  And now, thanks to you, I am free. And I feel fantastical.  That is a real word, right?

Dear Eric,
Oh my dear... how did you put up with me?  Thank you... for loving me while I was at my worst.  For making me laugh when I felt like there was nothing funny. I love you.

Dear Bob,
I saw the banana birthday card and stopped looking. Normally I would keep searching... for one that would come close to expressing my love for you and the role you take in our lives. But I know you know... so I went for the laugh.  And just so you know?  My boss was shocked when I told her we celebrated 70.  She thinks you are the youngest 70 she has ever seen.  I love you!!  {even though you left Mom with the alligators!}

Dear Florida,
You are amazing. This cool spring weather makes my head spin and reminds me again and again why I love living here!  I will make the most of the beautiful days, and store them up as best I can... before you lean towards hazy, hot & humid.  And while we are making the most of the days, I will cheer for the hometown heroes.  For our FGCU Eagles and for Lazaro Arbos... because when excitement comes to town you might as well be part of the party!

Love you and your heart, friend. I think I say that too much, but it's true.

Oh, sweet Dawn. (How your name suits you!) I have been away too long. But whenever I get here, it always feels like home. My grace friend, my sweet, sweet friend. I am SO glad you are feeling fantastical. It was a long winter, wasn't it? But now spring is here, and I am so glad for you. And I am so grateful for Jesus, for so many reasons, including the fact that without Him I would have never met you. Love you!

Fantastical is a word....and I love it!
I'm guessing since there is a photo of Bob leaving your Mom with the gators, that she survived! he is a young 70; gives me hope!
Happy Easter!
